The formula
GSM = courses/cm x wales/cm x stitch length (mm) x Tex / 100, with Tex = 590.5 / Ne.
Worked example
Courses per cm: 16, Wales per cm: 12, Stitch length: 2.8 mm, Yarn count: 30 Ne. Result: Fabric GSM = 105.8 g/m2; Weight = 3.12 oz/yd2; Yarn Tex = 19.68.

- Loop-geometry relation for weft knits in the finished relaxed state entered.
- Enter finished courses/wales; greige values predict greige GSM.
